I am an artist who makes sculptural objects and functional artworks in a variety of materials, predominantly wood. Work that is varied in scale, colourful and tactile. My ideas come to life through drawing and direct carving working with charcoal, saws, mallets, gouges and files. Surface tool marks often remain accentuating the energy of the making process.

My studio is in Norfolk and I often spend time at the Sainsbury Centre art gallery and museum. Inspired by the collection of ancient artifacts, African and Oceanic carving which is displayed alongside sculpture from the era of Modern Art.

At eighteen l made a lucky decision to do the Arts Foundation Course at Paradise Street in Cambridge and went on to study sculpture at Cheltenham School of Art. Aside from pursuing my own artwork, I have also been able to find sculpture related employment; boat building in the family business, sculpture technician for Cambridge School of Art and wood tutor at Rowan, an artist lead centre for people with learning disabilities.
